This week I’ve been focusing on Photo Props.
Etsy allows you to upload 10 photos for each listing, the more you fill the more complete Etsy sees your listing to be.
Some of the slots I’m using for helpful info, key points about the item, postage and packaging etc., which yes is included in the main detail, but it can be helpful to give the buyer the “headlines” to get them interested, and then hopefully they will go on to read further.
Anyway, there are only so many ways you can display some items, and when you work alone it can be rather difficult. Enter the props.
I wanted some hands to showcase a few of my items but looking online I couldn’t find any that were close to a realistic shape and size. So, out came the rubber gloves from the kitchen, to use as a mould, and some Plaster of Paris I’d bought for another project that never happened, and fairly quickly I had just what I needed.
They had to be left to cure before painting, I popped them by my dehumidifier which helped, and they are now looking pretty good.
I’ve gone with cream and black to start with, as I think they will work well with the products I’ll be using them with, especially when using a light/white background.
But I’ve two more waiting to be painted, which are possibly going to be green, as that’s the colour of my logo/branding, and perhaps a purple one too as I think it goes well with green
